Teach English in Vietnam: The Relaunch
Well, what are you waiting Phở? Vietnam is now fully open to teachers and we couldn’t wait to welcome our latest group and get them ready to teach English in Vietnam!
With towering temples, perfectly laid-out pagodas, intense traffic, beautiful beaches, rice fields for days, fascinating history and countless cafes filled with copious amounts of various coffees – Vietnam is an awesome country to set up camp.
The week included: Vietnamese language lessons, cooking classes, a visit to the War Remnants Museum, Cu-Chi tunnels and a welcome dinner. Amongst all this, we also had history, culture and politics lectures. XploreAsia believes it is extremely important for teachers to familiarise themselves with all aspects of their new home. Understanding the locals will make the transition into living and working abroad much easier. For us, immersion is key.

This first week is crucial, not only to alleviate culture shock, but also for teachers to get to know one another and start building a network. It’s also a chance for them to meet the men and women behind the e-mails they’ve been receiving for the past 6. This week is an opportunity to connect with the XA team as well as fellow teachers.
At the end of that week, we host another dinner to wish a few of the teachers good luck. Some of them already have their placements and will start working as soon as Monday. For the rest, XploreAsia’s 120-hour internationally accredited in-class TESOL training begins!
